About the Role & Team:
This is a key roll position where you will provide legal services to clients. A Senior Lawyer (Brenda Brooks) ranks a portfolio of client, on behalf of which management, corporate maintenance, accounting and reporting services are rendered. The team also consists of affiliate attorneys from our sister firm Duncan & Brandon Attorneys.
As a highly responsive professional, you will work with a high performing team, providing class-leading services to our clients through face-to-face meetings, by phone and/or e-mail, and actively contribute to enhancing operational procedures and developing Brooks & Associates’ practice.
Job Duties in Brief
- You are responsible for all legal and corporate matters for client/companies;
- Communicate with and advise clients, (tax) advisors, lawyers, notaries, other professionals, government institutions and other Brooks & Associates office associates;
- Draft legal documents, reviews and assessments;
- Signal any legal issue of a client’s transaction and liaise with the client and/or advisor;
- Assistance with the closing of transactions, including review and negotiation of transaction documents, coordination of approval process and attending to all associated matters
- Ensuring the good status of client/companies by complying with applicable laws and established procedures;
- Actively support our marketing efforts by developing networks and professionals and advising existing clients and prospects on (new) prospects;
- Maintaining and developing a strong network of locally & internationally-established clients, advisors and counterparties so as to ensure profitability and growth of Brooks & Associates; and
- Coaching and assisting more junior team members and interns in growing within the firm.
About You:
- University degree in Dutch (Antillean) Law with at least 3 years experience in a comparable position.
- Commercial, service-minded, hands-on and proactive mind-set;
- Willingness to further develop (international) company law knowledge;
- Analytic skills and affinity with languages;
- Responsible, reliable and ability to work within a team;
- Fluent in English and Dutch is essential;
